An ALL Knitting Group has formed. By request of those that have knitted patterns from ClothsLineEZine and K1P1KeepingYouInStitchesStudio Free Pattern Site.

July 1, 2007 we will start with our Cloth Of The Week: Knit-A-Long's and "Knit with Designer Forum" to answer your questions and problems with knitting the current patterns.The forum is going to be a great way to meet and greet fellow knitters.

The July & August Pattern Calendar is set with Supply Lists and types of patterns featured each week. "Knit with Designer Forum" is being set up. Details on how to access the room will be sent out closer to the date.

We are going to explore laces, intarsia, cables, knitting in the round, shaped cloths dish or wash cloths,big cloths, little cloths, baby cloths, anything that can be knitted and more! Tutorials and Knit- A-Long's on Knitting from charts for lace, texture, cable and intarsia. How to create charts
from basic pen and paper to various programs.

Cloth of the Week will be your favorite group!

We plan to run a WEEKLY knit-along Patterns will be given in it's entireity- not in daily postings. Once a week a new pattern is posted to the members and put on file. Files for pics of the cloths will be separate to insure those that enjoy knitting mystery cloths can continue and those who work with a picture can download the pic file.

Along with some of the cloths will be tutorials to help those new to the technique achieve professional results.

Memories in the Needles, Yarns and knitting tools

You may look and say whoah she has needles!! They are memories to me, some I will not part with for they were given to me from friends now in heaven knitting, some from my tutu, grandmother, friends who became family- my ohana. Each curve of the needle, every worn spot has a memory. If they could only tell the story.

Some do tell the story.

My grandmother got these needles to knit socks for soldiers in WW2, they are marked with bands representing inches...they are worn, missing needles...they still talk..

My students will be making caps to send. Last year we made 50+ blankets of cotton and quilts for Ushinda Orphanage in Kakamega Kenya Africa, 100 kites painted and 25 afghans in cotton for an Orphanage in Mexico. Our goal is the same.

If you notice- each of my patterns has a copyright notification. You may not post or distribute my patterns without written permission from me- Maile. If you make copies, make sure the copyright information is intact, or you will be violating the rules.
It disgusts me that many disregard this information.

I take the time to design, share with you, take the time to abide by the rules.

I have been informed of a yahoo group taking my patterns and posting them without permission, without copyright information and sometimes removing " by Maile" To take the time to remove my name and copyright information makes you a thief. You cannot state that you didnt know the rules- every pattern here has the rules at the bottom. Taking patterns from other Yahoo Groups files, is also a copyright infringement. The groups you took patterns from have been informed as to the breech in their files. Each file you stole had copyright information as well as designer credit- which you removed...what an example you are for the group! Obviously you are not a designer, for they respect other designers time and effort.

Yahoo copyright division has been notified and they will see fit what actions they will take against your group. I will take my own course of action dealing with the list owner.

If you want free patterns, is it too much to ask for following the rules?? Share the blog addy with people and say I got the patterns here...

Summer Tank

Each summer i make a new tank to wear with suits or jeans. usually it is in cotton or cotton silk. This year I made it out of peaches n cream ecru cotton. Working on the back, front is done back half done then just ribbing to do around armholes and neck..summer is year round sometimes here in california. Good to know I can through this in the wash and it will be fine!

Knitting In Public Day

June 10th was Knitting in Public Day.
One day dedicated to knitting in public?
Don't we usually do that 365 days ?

Maybe we should make it THe Year of LACE knitting?
Then 2007 could be the Year of Aran Knitting...would be a fun concept!
I knit in public often, and amazed how many people ask what I am crochet'ing...so it is a good way to educate the public. Knitters untangle our yarns and educate the public..
